I led the re design of the app for where I was responsible for producing a brand new identity, which included the design of the app icon.  This was to fit more in line with the site, although this wasn't the official notonthehighstreet app and was in fact called the 'gift finder' app. This meant it needed to have its own look and feel without feeling entirely separate from the brand. I was responsible for designing a comprehensive UI toolkit for the developers and designers as well as managing all marketing collateral such as landing pages and ATL advertising. Upon release of the app, it made it to number one in the app store for 'best app' and remained in this ranking for 6 consecutive weeks.

App Icon

The app icon was inspired by the notonthehighstreet logo. Although this wasn't the official notonthehighstreet app, it still had to reflect the same visual qualities as the brand. This meant maintaining the photographic and personalised feel which the logo already represents. I made the bow using origami techniques. The project took me around 2 weeks from concept through to completion. I learnt how to make several origami bows and made around 200 rough versions until we reached the final solution. The bow was then photographed and rolled out into the final assets. 



Taxi wrap

I was responsible for all marketing collateral which advertising the app, including a re skin of taxi which drove around London for 6 weeks during the busy December period. I worked on this project with the Head of Art Direction, where we developed a life size present skinned onto a London taxi.
